Icecast is opensource software that has been around since 1999 and is supported by thousands of internet radio's worldwide due to its extensive feature list, which mainly includes multiple supported media formats and the ability to uniquely mount your radio between different servers. We use IceCast alongside Centova Cast to offer a full-featured radio platform for our users to use, which adds extra features like Auto-DJ and Pre-Made Widgets.

Yes, Icecast fully supports the AAC media format. AAC is an extremely efficient high-quality media format and we recommend using it for your broadcast.
Yes you can, Auto-DJ allows live broadcasting. Once your live stream ends or your source disconnects Auto-DJ will also fallback to your stored playlists within CentovaCast so there is no stream downtime whatsoever and your listeners will stay connected to the broadcast.
We currently have a centralized location within Finland, Europe. We find it an extremely well suited location for both broadcasters and listeners, it offers low-to-decent latency to almost any location on earth.
Our servers network port can burst up to 10 Gbps if necessary. We keep usage at a maximum of 10-20% at all times per server, allowing up to 80% of the network port to be free at all times for any surges in traffic.
Yes you can - All our streaming plans come with the ability to connect with your own encoder, allowing you to broadcast in real-time from your own computer.
CentovaCast is the central control panel we use for our Icecast streams. You'll be able to fully manage your playlists, stream settings, etc within CentovaCast directly.
